Principle Investigator

Dr. Mustafa Karatok
Mustafa Karatok is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine at Hacettepe University. Dr. Karatok earned his BSc (2010) and MSc (2012) degrees in Chemistry from Ankara University and obtained his PhD in Chemistry from Bilkent University in 2017. Under the supervision of Prof. Emrah Özensoy, his doctoral research focused on investigating oxygen species on model catalysts and their role in selective oxidation reactions. Following his PhD, Dr. Karatok was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University from 2018 to 2022, where he worked with Profs. Cynthia Friend and Bob Madix on bimetallic model surfaces and nanoparticles for selective catalytic reactions.
